In autumn 2011, COORDINADORA carried out the transport of 2 Trafos of 355 t per unit. The operation was carried out in 2 separate shipments, where each trafo was first transported from Seville (Spain) to New Orleans (Louisiana, USA). From there, they were transshipped to heavy duty barges and towed upstream Mississippi and Illinois Rivers (more than 1100 nm) to Seneca (Illinois) where both units were unloaded by Ro/Ro, and transported on SPMTs to the final destination 11 Km further, in La Salle NPP.

Following our policy and tradition, this complex and multimodal operation was supervised by our team in person, in each and every stage of the transport, from origin to final destination. Due to the numerous transport means needed and the several operations that took place in each point, including ocean freight, loading/unloading and lashing, the importance of a perfect coordination was crucial for the good and successful development of the project. Moreover, COORDINADORA had to strictly comply with the rigorous dates and schedules set by the nuclear power plant, and no delays were permitted.
