COORDINADORA was asked, with a very short period of time, to organize the reception and transport of different elements arriving in the Port of Seville to the Arenales thermosolar plant in Moron de la Frontera. The main piece was a turbine that weighted 171.000 Kg and was 4,70 m high, and once on the truck, the full transport measure increased to 5,78 m height and 247 t weight.
The challenge of this transport was that it was awarded with very short notice, just one week before the cargo arrived to Seville Port. Due to the dimensions and conditions of the turbine and the itinerary from the port to the plant, COORDINADORA had to follow a detailed protocol to prepare the route up to its final destination. This included asking for permits to the different authorities and town halls of the areas involved, remove all the possible obstacles and difficulties on the road, like traffic lights, signs, posting signs… organize the electricity cuts where the transport could be touching the high voltage cables and cut some trees. Moreover, the plan was to cross the whole city of Seville at night, so everything had to be ready and prepared for the transport day.
Although organizing all the different parties was a complex operation, everything came out smoothly and the transport could be completed without any setbacks.
