COORDINADORA successfully performed the transportation of 3 Replacement Steam Generators -each one of 350 tons- and one Replacement Reactor Vessel Closure Head -of 52 tons- from the premises of our client at Santander (Spain) to their final facilities in Beaver Valley Nuclear Power Plant Pennsylvania (USA). The transportation process that followed this project was particularly challenging. Not only because the route included oceanic and river navigation, but because of the delicate cargo pieces that requered a very detailed lifting and loading plan.
The engineering work that COORDINADORA developed for this project was outstanding.
The quality standards in the nuclear industry don’t give room for error. And the whole team lived up to the expectations.
The journey began when the cargo was loaded and stowed at quay into the vessel, a JUMBO E650 type.
